I have great faith in ordinary parents,.”  Who has a child’s welfare more at heart than his ordinary parents?...[When parents are given the skills…not only are they able to use these skills, but they infuse them with a warmth and a style…uniquely their own.” - Haim Ginott, child psycholotgist

Social Marketing is the pursuit of a “social good” through communication, problem solving, and decision-making support. CSF's Social Marketing & Analysis group helps human service agencies fulfill their missions by strengthening the networks of state workers, private service professionals, community groups, businesses, and families that are affected by health and welfare issues. We serve the needs of all community network members through such services as:

Audience Identification – Our segmentation models lead directly to
the individuals and families with the greatest need for agency services, or to community and business partners who can help achieve goals.

Strategy Development – Whether you need initiatives for reducing
risky health behaviors, recruiting resource families for children, encouraging non-custodial parents pay child support, or establishing locations for community service centers, our strategy consultants create strategies that achieve results.

Campaign Execution – Our graphic designers, broadcast media
developers, public relations specialists, and event coordinators take your message to every corner of your jurisdiction, or concentrate on the highly targeted audiences with the greatest need for services.

    Outcomes Measurement – We hold our projects to a higher standard;
we don't do anything that can’t be measured, and we don’t measure anything that isn’t useful to you. We measure success by the changes you are looking for in your target populations.

Social Marketing & Analysis - Clients

Georgia DHR DFCS Adoptions Unit – CSF supports statewide recruitment of foster and adoptive families for children with special
needs. Using the Strategic Recruitment Model, we consult with the state to determine local recruiting needs and developing targeted recruiting activities. Project activity includes developing marketing materials to promote recruitment efforts across the state, and tracking the success of recruitment efforts.

Georgia DHR Division of Public Health - In early 2005 CSF completed a public awareness project for Babies Can’t Wait, the
IDEA Part C program administered by the Georgia DHR Division of Public Health, responsible for providing early detection and intervention to Georgia’s children with developmental delays and disabilities. Using the Need Predictor Model, we identified the neighborhoods in which children are at high risk for delays and disabilities, then created outreach strategies to bring those families to BCW for screening and assistance. Project activity included analysis of Georgia birth records, development of an outreach campaign (including marketing materials and outreach strategies), and training of district health workers in use of the analysis and execution of the campaign.

Georgia DHR Division of Public Health, WIC Program - In early 2005, CSF developed and delivered a workshop for county
health staff on improving their understanding of, and engagement skills with, WIC customers to ensure that they maintain their civil rights requirements. In this workshop both office staff and nursing consultants learned about the characteristics and motivations of four different types of customers they serve through WIC, and also practiced methods for improving their ability to communicate with and encourage those customers to take advantage of the nutritional support services offered through WIC.

Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments - In 2004, CSF conducted an assessment of recruitment opportunities for foster
care families within the Metropolitan Washington Region (an area covering the District of Columbia, the City of Alexandria, VA, and seven metro-area counties in Maryland and Virginia). Using the Strategic Recruitment Model, we identified the characteristics of the various neighborhoods in the participating jurisdictions, then targeted specific neighborhoods for recruitment to meet the special needs of children in care. Project activity included a population analysis of the Metro DC area, training regional recruiters and resource developers, and providing direct consultation to jurisdictions on how to develop comprehensive recruitment plans.

Georgia DHR Office of Adoptions - In 2001 and 2002, CSF executed Georgia's public information campaign about children in foster care who are available for adoption. Using the Strategic
Recruitment Model, we identified five family types that are best prepared to adopt children from foster care, then delivered recruitment training to more than 350 of Georgia’s resource workers. Project activity included planning and executing training conferences on recruitment and media/community outreach, developing a series of radio advertisements featuring celebrity Georgians who encourage listeners to foster or adopt children, designing a comprehensive media and community outreach kit for recruiters, and organizing adoption promotion events.
