Iowa Child Welfare Quality Improvement Project
As part of its "Better Results for Kids" initiative, the Iowa Department of Human Resources (DHR) engaged CSF in a series of consulting activities to improve the quality and outcomes of child welfare services statewide. Goals for the effort included...- Reducing unnecessary documentation and paperwork;
- Enhancing the alignment and integration of documentation efforts with the state`s model of practice for child welfare services;
- Strengthening the use of documentation and related tools for supporting key activities and decision at the worker level, reviewing and validating those activities and decisions at the supervisory level, and tracking and reporting on child welfare activities at the management level;
- Identifying cost effective approaches for the use of automation to further streamline documentation and reporting demands; and
- Providing consulting and training services to refine and finalize DHS`s existing quality assurance and improvement model and to develop and provide training staff to support quality training within DHS.
